A Message from Your OTAO President: Kristy Fleming OTAO Members and Oregon Occupational Therapy Community, In a year marked by uncertainty and division, I hope you’re finding moments of connection, purpose, and joy. As we move into 2026, we will look forward to more positivity, stronger advocacy, and continued impact for the communities we serve. As we reflect on the past year, I’m grateful for the energy and engagement that continue to shape our organization. Our annual conference in Seaside was a highlight—full of learning, meaningful conversations, and in-person connection that reminds us why community matters. Looking ahead to the new year, my hope is to build on this momentum by continuing to grow our membership and strengthening the ways we show up for one another. As your President, I am committed to fostering a culture of connection, support, and collective empowerment. In a world where it can be difficult to find common ground, I believe deeply in the strength of our community. My vision for OTAO is centered on cultivating community and camaraderie, while ensuring our organization remains vibrant, inclusive, organized, and sustainable. I also believe strongly in the importance of human-to-human connection—supporting each other not just as professionals, but as people. With this as a focus, I look forward to exploring volunteer opportunities that allow OTAO members to connect with each other and serve their local communities. I encourage all members to consider ways they can give back—through service, mentorship, advocacy, or simple acts of support. Together, we can strengthen our communities and make a meaningful difference….meaning and purpose?! Imagine that coming from an OT! If you are a member…Thank You and if you are not, please consider joining and being part of this excellent organization. I encourage you all to stay engaged, get involved, and reach out to one another - WE are stronger together. Cheers,
